About this position

Columbia University is advertising a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position in the Palomero Laboratory, led by Dr. Teresa Palomero at the Institute for Cancer Genetics, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York City.

The lab studies the molecular genetics and epigenetic mechanisms of malignant transformation in T-cell malignancies, including T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCL). Research areas include genomic, transcriptomic, and single-cell approaches; tumor microenvironment interactions; mechanistic analyses of oncogenes and tumor suppressors; and evaluation of experimental therapeutics.

The successful candidate will work with mouse models, human patient samples, flow cytometry, and single-cell methods such as scRNA-seq and CITE-seq. The role also involves data analysis, presentation, manuscript preparation, collaboration with the Institute for Cancer Genetics and the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, and mentoring junior lab members.

Eligibility highlights: PhD (or equivalent) in a biomedical field, completed or near completion; strong experience in multi-color flow cytometry; experience with mouse handling and in vivo experimentation; experience with human samples and single-cell profiling; excellent English communication; strong organization and record-keeping. Immunology and cancer biology experience are preferred.

Funding: competitive salary with benefits, supported by the Columbia University postdoctoral union. The posted salary range is $72,116 per year.

Application: apply via the Interfolio portal and email Dr. Teresa Palomero with a cover letter, CV, and three references. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
