About this position
Columbia University’s Tepole Lab is hiring two postdoctoral research scientists in mechanical engineering, computational mechanics, biomechanics, materials science, and scientific machine learning.
Position 1: Data-driven constitutive modeling and AI-driven material design for multiscale materials that lack scale separation and exhibit dissipative behavior. The work involves developing novel homogenization methods, micromorphic theories, and physics-constrained machine learning models for simulation and inverse design.
Position 2: Coupled physics of soft tissues, focusing on the interplay of mechanics, transport, and thermal effects in soft biological tissue, especially skin. This role also relies on physics-augmented machine learning methods.
The Tepole Lab describes a collaborative environment and welcomes applicants with expertise in scientific machine learning, computational mechanics, and/or biomechanics. Columbia MechE is located in New York City.
