About this position

Koç University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Antimicrobial Resistance and Innovative Therapeutic Approaches within the Koç University İşbank Center for Infectious Diseases (KUISCID) in Türkiye.

The role is suited to a highly motivated researcher with a PhD in microbiology, biotechnology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field. Applicants should bring hands-on experience with resistant bacteria, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, biofilm assays, bacterial killing assays, and ideally nanoparticle-based antimicrobial research, nanobiotechnology, or other innovative antibacterial strategies. A strong publication record, experience in grant writing or research proposals, and advanced English proficiency are expected.

Responsibilities include designing and conducting independent research projects, contributing to collaborative projects across Koç University and external partners, developing new research ideas, preparing grant applications, performing laboratory-based microbiology and biotechnology experiments, analysing and reporting results, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals. The researcher will also present at scientific meetings and support the supervision, training, and mentoring of master’s and doctoral students.
