About this position
Postdoctoral Researcher in Exercise Neuroscience and EEG – The Fit Brain Project at the Institute of Psychology, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland.
This is a full-time postdoc position in an NCN-funded project exploring how physical exercise changes the brain and whether EEG can be used to personalize exercise for better cognitive and emotional benefits. The project includes EEG recordings before, during, and after exercise, cognitive and emotional tasks, psychophysiological measurements, and advanced analysis of experimental and longitudinal data.
Eligibility highlights: doctoral degree or equivalent required; background may be in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, cognitive science, biomedical engineering, data science, biostatistics, computer science, physical culture sciences, sport and exercise science, or a related field. Applicants should have experience with EEG or related neurophysiological/psychophysiological data, strong programming or analytical skills in MATLAB, Python, R, or similar, and solid statistical knowledge. Very good English and readiness to work on-site in Kraków are required.
Preferred experience: ERP, frequency-domain or time-frequency EEG analysis; EEG connectivity, aperiodic EEG activity, source analysis, mixed-effects models, multivariate analyses, predictive modelling; PsychoPy; Bayesian statistics; machine learning; network analyses; research on physical activity, exercise physiology, sport sciences, cognition, or emotion.
Funding: basic salary PLN 9,471–11,555 gross per month, plus possible allowances and additional annual remuneration according to university regulations. The university notes that it does not provide housing.
