About this position
McGill University is recruiting a fully funded Postdoctoral Fellow in the Yoshiji Lab for research at the intersection of human genetics, proteomics, multi-omics, drug target discovery, precision medicine, cardiometabolic diseases, and related translational applications.
The successful candidate will work with biobank-scale datasets such as UK Biobank, NIH All of Us, CLSA, and the McGill-based BioPortal to identify causal proteins and genetic variants that may be translated into therapeutic targets. The project involves statistical genetics and causal inference methods including Mendelian randomization, GWAS, fine-mapping, colocalization, polygenic scoring, and multi-trait / multi-ancestry analyses.
This postdoctoral role is well suited to candidates with a background in human genetics, statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science, or a closely related quantitative discipline. Strong programming skills in R or Python, Unix/Linux shell, and experience with HPC / Slurm or cloud platforms are expected. Experience with proteomics platforms such as Olink or SomaScan, biobank-scale data, and multi-omics analyses are strong assets.
The position offers a fully funded appointment at McGill University, with an annual salary of $48,000 for a full-time 35-hour/week role, plus McGill postdoctoral benefits. The lab emphasizes reproducible research, open science, mentoring, and international collaboration.
To apply, submit your CV (including publication list and coding/HPC experience), a 1–2 page cover letter, contact details for 2–3 academic references, and 1–2 representative publications or preprints through Workday. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

What's required
Applicants must hold, or be within about 6 months of completing, a PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant quantitative or biomedical field such as human genetics, statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science, or a closely related discipline. Required experience includes programming in R or Python, Unix/Linux shell, high-performance computing and/or cloud computing, and working knowledge of GWAS, Mendelian randomization, fine-mapping, colocalization, polygenic risk scores, or related causal-inference/statistical-genetics methods. Candidates should have a strong publication record with at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication or accepted preprint, strong scientific writing and communication skills in English, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and commitment to open, reproducible science. English is required; French is an asset but not required.
How to apply
Apply through Workday and submit a CV with publication list and HPC/coding experience, a 1–2 page cover letter, contact information for 2–3 academic references with email addresses, and 1–2 representative publications or preprints. An optional short statement about a computational analysis or research result may also be included. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
