The University of Turku's Faculty of Technology, Department of Computing, is offering a two-year, fully funded postdoctoral researcher position in the field of Large Language Models (LLM) for edge AI. The successful candidate will focus on developing high-efficiency, small-to-medium LLMs optimized for edge devices using advanced techniques such as compression, quantization, and distillation. The role involves close collaboration with top-tier European universities and industrial partners, participation in project implementation and reporting, and contributions to academic life through supervision of students and teaching support.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with strong expertise in machine learning and a proven publication record. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English are essential. In exceptional cases, candidates nearing completion of their doctoral studies may be considered for a Project Researcher position.
