About this position
Kyushu University is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Nuclear Fusion Dynamics, Research Institute for Applied Mechanics, for a project linked to the Cabinet Office’s Moonshot Goal 10 program on fusion energy and a dynamic society free from resource constraints.
The position focuses on nuclear fusion, plasma physics, magnetic confinement fusion, and tokamak systems. The successful candidate will work on one or more topics such as development of numerical simulation modules for integrated modeling suites, inter-module coupling and code maintenance, development of related plasma simulation codes, analysis of physical mechanisms, and modeling of magnetic confinement systems.
This is a full-time, non-tenured research position. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. The salary is approximately 350,000–400,000 yen per month (annual salary from about 3 million yen), with transportation expenses available and standard employee insurance/pension coverage provided.
The work location is Fukuoka, Japan. The appointment starts as soon as possible after hiring and runs through 2027-03-31, with possible renewal depending on performance, workload, budget, and related conditions.
