About this position

Karolinska Institutet invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in precision nutrition and/or epidemiology. This opportunity is based within the IMPACT research group, led by Professor Marie Löf, which focuses on innovative digital health interventions to promote physical activity and nutrition across the lifespan. The group, comprising over 35 members, specializes in developing healthcare services with a particular emphasis on pregnant women and children. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team at Campus Flemingsberg, contributing to both ongoing and new projects involving large-scale data management, analysis, and reporting.

The postdoctoral researcher will play a key role in analyzing existing datasets, coordinating projects, and supervising junior researchers. The position offers a creative and inspiring environment at one of the world's leading medical universities, renowned for its successful medical research and comprehensive medical education. Karolinska Institutet fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, providing ample opportunities to exchange knowledge across various scientific fields within medicine and health.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in medical science, such as nutrition, epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related discipline. A strong background in nutritional epidemiology and experience with large-scale studies involving nutritional variables, biomarkers, and health outcomes are highly desirable. Additional merits include documented research experience in child and women’s health, as well as prior supervision of master’s and doctoral students. Candidates should demonstrate thoroughness, organizational skills, independence, teamwork, flexibility, and excellent communication skills in English. Scientific writing experience is essential, and fluency in Swedish is considered an advantage. Eligibility requires a PhD or equivalent foreign degree, ideally completed within the last three years unless special circumstances apply.

The position is a fixed-term, full-time employment for two years, with salary and benefits provided according to the university's collective agreement. Karolinska Institutet offers a supportive academic environment, mentoring for early-career researchers, and a close relationship with healthcare providers, ensuring top-quality education and research. The application process requires submission of a PhD certificate, a complete resumé, a publication list, and a summary of current work, all in English or Swedish, via the Varbi recruitment system. The deadline for applications is March 6, 2026.
