About this position

Postdoctoral Researcher in quantitative proteomics and post-translational modifications at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, Denmark.

The Nielsen Lab is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to help develop an ambitious research programme at the interface of mass spectrometry-based proteomics, PTM analysis, and mechanistic cell biology. The project focuses on regulatory proteome states, with particular interest in ADP-ribosylation, related signalling mechanisms, and how PTM networks control protein function and cellular behaviour.

This postdoc will contribute to both methodological development and biological discovery. The work includes developing and applying advanced MS-based proteomics workflows, quantitative PTM analysis, PTM enrichment strategies, and independent research projects. The lab environment is described as highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, with strong expertise in RNA biology, structural biology, enzymology, glycobiology, and quantitative proteomics.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD in proteomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field. Experience with high-resolution LC-MS systems, large-scale proteomics experiments, cell biology, molecular biology, or ADP-ribosylation/PARP biology is an advantage. The ideal candidate is scientifically ambitious, independent, and strong in communication and publication.

Funding and terms: the appointment is for two years with the possibility of extension. Salary depends on seniority under the Danish collective labour agreement.
