About this position

Marvin Reuter, Junior Professor for Sociology, esp. Work and Health, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher for the University of Bamberg, Germany, within the new ERC Starting Grant project FIELDS – Fields of Education as New Drivers of Health Inequalities.

The role is ideal for a quantitative social or health scientist with experience in longitudinal/panel data analysis and an interest in social inequalities in health, education, and the life course. The project works with six major international household panel studies: SOEP, PSID, HILDA, LISS, SHP, and KLIPS.

This is a 100% postdoctoral position at E13 TV-L for 5 years, starting 1 January 2027. The post includes a leading role in data harmonisation and longitudinal cross-country analyses, plus opportunities for international collaboration, research visits, and methodological training.

The working environment is international. German language skills are an advantage but not required. The position is based at the University of Bamberg with close links to LIfBi/NEPS, IAB, and BAuA.
