About this position
Postdoctoral Researcher in Sport Psychology at Nantes Université, within the MIP Laboratory and the interdisciplinary 3CI project (Computer-aided assessment of the Cortico-Cardiovascular Interaction for monitoring the stress of athletes).
The project is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and involves collaboration with INRIA, INSEP, Université Paris-Saclay, and Nantes Université. It combines sport psychology, psychophysiology, signal processing, and AI to study stress in elite athletes under real performance conditions.
The postdoctoral researcher will help design, run, and analyse experimental studies with elite athletes and healthy participants, including stress induction protocols and psychological stress measurements. Key tasks include developing and validating psychological stress assessments such as stress appraisals, stress mindset, and perceived workload, as well as data processing and scientific writing.
The work is based primarily at Nantes Université, with an additional work location at INSEP Pôle Performance – Laboratoire Sport, Expertise et Performance (SEP) in Paris.
Eligibility requires a PhD or equivalent in psychology, cognitive science, sport psychology, or psychophysiology. Candidates who have completed doctoral research and have a thesis defence scheduled before the end of 2026 may also apply. Applicants should bring experience in experimental psychology, stress and coping, psychometric validation, high-performance sport settings, statistics, and strong English and French communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary and collaborative research environments, strong interest in stress science, performance psychology, and psychophysiological modelling, ability to work independently with high personal responsibility, proven ability to meet deadlines, and enthusiasm for experimental work, instrumentation, and team collaboration are required. French and English are both required at good level.
