About this position

University of Helsinki, Faculty of Humanities, is inviting applications for 1-2 Postdoctoral Researcher positions in the study of Ancient Near East.

The project is part of the ANEE+ research community, with research themes spanning the Eastern Mediterranean and Western Asia from prehistory to late antiquity. The call especially welcomes proposals that connect different fields of science and fit the network’s interdisciplinary goals.

Funding is provided as a full salary, with an annual gross salary of €43,200-50,400, plus a personal performance component. Limited travel funding may also be available. The university also offers occupational health care, health insurance, sports facilities, and support for international staff.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, have the ability and motivation to carry out an independent postdoctoral research project, and be able to conduct the project at the University of Helsinki while residing in Finland during the contract period.
