About this position

Toyota Technological Institute in Nagoya, Japan is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in optical communications and photonics at the Information and Communications Laboratory.

The project covers optical fiber communication systems and related technologies, including digital coherent optical transmission, DSP for optical transmitters and receivers, optical network design and control, coherent optical measurement, and optical fiber sensing. The lab also offers an active experimental environment with high-speed coherent optical transmission and optical networking facilities, including 100-Gbaud-class long-haul transmission experiments.

This is a full-time, non-tenure-track postdoctoral appointment. The salary is listed as JPY 6,000,000 or higher per year, with a base salary of JPY 500,000–550,000 per month. A bonus may be provided depending on performance and budget. The contract is for one year and may be renewed annually for up to three years. Housing support or commuting support may be available, and a staff dormitory is available.
