The Department of Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar to work with Dr. Christina Roup on an NIH-funded clinical trial focused on the efficacy of low-gain hearing aids for adults with functional hearing difficulties.

The postdoctoral scholar will contribute to participant recruitment, enrollment, intervention delivery, data collection, statistical analysis, protocol implementation, regulatory compliance, and manuscript preparation. The role also includes grant preparation, IRB submissions, study documentation, laboratory management, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate research assistants.
Research interests include clinical efficacy of hearing aid technology, hearing rehabilitation, adult audiologic assessment, intervention outcomes, and evidence-based approaches for managing hearing difficulties not fully explained by traditional audiometric measures. The position offers faculty mentorship in grant writing, study design, publication, and opportunities to present at national and international conferences.
Eligibility highlights: Au.D. or AuD/Ph.D. in Audiology, Hearing Science, Speech and Hearing Science, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Public Health, Psychology, or a related field; strong writing and communication skills; significant experience with behavioral research and human participants; experience with adult hearing aid fitting and verification; strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Desired: Ohio audiology licensure or eligibility, clinical trial/intervention research experience, experience with REDCap and statistical software such as R, SAS, SPSS, MATLAB, or Python, and experience working with diverse populations.
