About this position
Postdoctoral Scholar opportunity in Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University, working with Dr. Ying Wang in the Department of Medicine | Biomedical Informatics.
The position focuses on advanced research training in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, biostatistics, computational genomics, and longitudinal biobank research. The scholar will study the genetic architecture of disease onset, progression, multimorbidity, and clinical outcomes using large-scale genomic data, electronic health records, and longitudinal cohort data.
Research topics may include common- and rare-variant association studies, survival and longitudinal analysis, multi-state disease modeling, polygenic risk prediction, gene-environment interaction, cross-population analysis, and integration of genomic data with longitudinal EHR data. There are opportunities to work with the Global Biobank Meta-Analysis Initiative and other large biobank resources, and to contribute as primary analyst and lead author on cross-biobank studies.
Required qualifications include a doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree in a quantitative field such as biostatistics, statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical informatics, or epidemiology. Applicants should have experience with R and/or Python, Unix/Linux environments, large genomic or clinical datasets, and strong communication and collaborative skills.
Preferred experience includes genome-wide or rare-variant association studies, survival analysis, longitudinal or multi-state modeling, polygenic risk scores, gene-environment interaction, EHR data, high-performance computing, reproducible workflows, manuscript preparation, and consortium research.
This is a full-time, term (fixed-term) postdoctoral position in Columbus, United States. Apply via the Workday portal using the official application link. Current Ohio State employees and students should use the internal application process.
