The Center for Critical Minerals (C²M) at the EMS Energy Institute, Penn State, is hiring a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar focused on innovative research in critical minerals. The project centers on the extraction, purification, and separation of critical minerals, including rare earth elements, from primary and secondary sources such as acid mine drainage, sludge, clay, and recycled materials.

The successful candidate will contribute to the expansion and operation of a 10,000-gallon-per-day pilot-scale critical-mineral facility and work with a multidisciplinary team spanning academia and industry. This is a strong fit for researchers with interests in hydrometallurgy, mineral processing, resource recovery, sustainable materials development, and pilot-scale operations.
