About this position

Postdoctoral Scholar, Neurovascular at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine in Reno, Nevada, United States.

This is a full-time postdoctoral opening in a neurovascular imaging laboratory focused on neurovascular coupling, cerebral blood flow regulation, vascular biology, and neuroscience. The lab studies how neural cells communicate with vascular cells to regulate blood flow to match metabolic demands, using two-photon fluorescent light microscopy, awake in vivo mouse models, pharmacological manipulations, delicate surgeries, and advanced imaging/electrophysiology approaches.

Research interests and fit: candidates with strong backgrounds in vascular biology and/or neuroscience, imaging, electrophysiology, animal models, and experimental troubleshooting are especially relevant. The work is connected to the Tran Lab, which investigates cellular communication within the neurovascular unit and its role in brain function and diseases such as stroke and dementia.

Eligibility highlights: Ph.D. in vascular biology or neuroscience required; demonstrated in vitro and/or in vivo experimental ability; experience with imaging and electrophysiology; ability to work independently, think critically, and adapt protocols; strong communication skills; doctoral degree completed within the last five years; no previous positions in the professional ranks. Matlab skills are recommended.

Funding: salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience. No stipend amount, tuition coverage, or scholarship funding is stated.

Application: submit a CV, cover letter describing research experience, scientific interests, and career goals, plus contact information for three professional references. The posting is open until filled, and applications are reviewed until the search closes without notice.
