About this position

Postdoctoral Scientist in Translational Cancer Biology at Cancer Research Malaysia

Cancer Research Malaysia is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist to join its Translational Cancer Biology Research Unit in Malaysia. The role is centered on translational cancer biology, cancer immunology, and immunotherapy research, with a strong emphasis on cancers that disproportionately affect Asians.

The research program involves investigating novel immunomodulatory targets and drug mechanisms in head and neck cancer models, including work on molecular and cell biology, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, genomics and transcriptomics analysis, 3D spheroid co-culture models, functional assays, imaging, and both in vitro and in vivo models. The unit also uses genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 screens, high-throughput drug screens, and multi-omics approaches to identify therapeutic targets and biomarkers.

Eligibility highlights include a PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field, or a Master’s degree with 2–3 years of relevant experience. Applicants should have strong laboratory skills, experience with genomic/transcriptomic data, scientific presentation and publication experience, and study design and grant writing experience. The post is explicitly open to Malaysian citizens only.

The position is described as an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research, support grant applications, mentor junior researchers, and help advance prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies. No funding package, stipend, or deadline is stated in the post.
