Immediate opening for a postdoctoral/research scientist position in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Clemson University, in collaboration with the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). The role offers access to SRNL facilities and collaboration with SRNL scientists.

The research focus is on critical minerals and materials, including the production, separation, and recycling of battery materials and/or rare-earth materials. The successful candidate will contribute to scientific publications, patent filings, proposal development for future funding, and mentoring graduate students.

Required background: a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, physics, or a related discipline. This is a research-intensive position suited to candidates with strong interests in materials processing, sustainable materials, and critical minerals.
