This PhD project at Aston University, based in the College of Health and Life Sciences, investigates the prevalence, ocular biomarkers, and interventions for myopia progression in children. The project will also evaluate the effectiveness of current myopia control interventions, including specialized spectacle lenses and contact lenses, used in clinical practice. The findings are expected to inform earlier identification of high-risk children and guide more effective, evidence-based intervention strategies for myopia management.
The position is based at the Aston Campus in Birmingham, UK, and requires regular in-person attendance. The project covers Home tuition fees; overseas applicants are welcome but must pay the difference between Home and Overseas tuition fees (£17,712 for 2026/7).
