Project / Research Engineer opening in Mechanical Metamaterials at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

This opportunity is for a highly motivated Project / Research Engineer to join a research project on the Design and Applications of Mechanical Metamaterials. The work combines experimental research, numerical simulations, and the design and characterization of mechanical metamaterials.

Eligibility: Applicants should have an M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related discipline from a reputed institute, or an M.Sc. in Physics from a reputed institute. Experience with ANSYS and/or Abaqus will be an advantage.

Funding and duration: The position is a project-based role with remuneration as per project norms and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The project duration is 3 years, with performance evaluation at the end of each year. Candidates should be willing to commit for at least one year.

Research environment: The role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge research in mechanical metamaterials, with potential for publications in leading international journals and contribution to patentable technologies. There is also a potential opportunity to pursue a PhD at IIT Kanpur, subject to meeting Institute and Departmental admission requirements and selection criteria.
