The Multimodal Intelligent Interaction group at the University of Bamberg is looking for candidates to fill a PhD position in Robotics and AI! This full-time position (salary according to E13 TV-L) is initially limited to 3 years, with the option for extension and the goal of a doctoral degree.

About the Research:
The Multimodal Intelligent Interaction group focuses on research in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and human-robot interaction. Areas of focus include:
Hybrid AI approaches for autonomous task-solving by robots
Natural interaction in joint action scenarios (e.g., service robots, smart factories, socio-technical assistance)
What You'll Do:
Conduct independent research in robotics and AI
Contribute to research and teaching at the university
Present your findings at international conferences
Build robot demonstrators for research and teaching
Supervise student projects
Ideal Candidate:
A Master's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields
Strong knowledge and experience in robotics, AI, machine learning, and distributed systems (C++, ROS, OPC UA)
Interest in interdisciplinary research with a collaborative and independent working style
Proficiency in both German and English for teaching and communication
