About this position

Jesus College, University of Cambridge is inviting applications for one Science Research Fellowship in a wide range of STEM and life-science fields, including Biological Anthropology, Biology/Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Ecology, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics/Mathematical Sciences, Medicine, Natural Sciences, Physics, Psychology, and Veterinary Sciences.

This is a fixed-term three-year Research Fellowship normally commencing on 1 October 2027. The opportunity is aimed at early-career researchers, especially those in the later stages of a PhD or those who have recently completed a PhD. Cross-disciplinary projects are welcome if they involve at least one of the listed subjects.

The fellowship offers remuneration starting from £32,882 per annum, plus free dinner or lunch for all Research Fellows, possible reimbursement of certain research benefits, and access to the University Pension Scheme.

Applications open online on 3 August 2026 via the fellowship portal. The closing date is 30 September 2026 at 5pm. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to upload written work (up to 40,000 words) and a 500-word statement about the importance of their current and proposed work.
