Senior Post-Doctoral Position (m/f/d) in Hydrology at the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
This is a 6-year postdoctoral opportunity (initially 3 years, extendable by up to 3 more years after evaluation) in the Chair of Hydrology within the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geosciences and the Bayreuth Center of Ecology and Environmental Research (BayCEER).
The position focuses on hydrology, hydroclimatic processes, field-based research, environmental change, water availability, extreme events, land use impacts, solute and nutrient transport, hydrological connectivity, and water-quality responses across scales. The successful candidate will integrate field observations with conceptual, data-driven, and/or modelling approaches and help shape the scientific use of a mobile trailer-based field laboratory and the Limnological Station.
Responsibilities include developing an independent research and teaching profile, publishing high-quality research, contributing to competitive grant proposals, teaching B.Sc. and M.Sc. courses in Geoecology (5 hours/week) in German and/or English, supervising student theses, and supporting research and teaching coordination in the group.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD/doctoral degree in hydrology, geoecology, environmental sciences, or a related field; strong experience in experimental field and laboratory research; a solid publication record; excellent English communication skills; German is desirable; and strong motivation for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Funding/employment: full-time senior postdoctoral appointment, either as civil servant status (A13) or TV-L E13. Relocation costs may be covered under certain conditions.
