Senior Postdoc/Principal Investigator Position in 7 Tesla MRI Research University of Liège in Belgium

The GIGA-CRC Human Imaging unit at the University of Liège is offering a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher or Principal Investigator position focused on developing innovative research programs using 7 Tesla MRI. This career-accelerator role provides a 2-year renewable contract, a startup package including a 1-year PhD student contract, over €20,000 in equipment access (notably 7T MRI), and comprehensive methodological support. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams of biologists, psychologists, neurologists, chemists, physicists, and engineers, all working to advance understanding of the human brain in areas such as sleep, cognition, aging, and brain disorders.

The GIGA-CRC Human Imaging platform is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including 3T and 7T MRI (Prisma/Terra Siemens), PET scan, high-density EEG, EEG-TMS, EEG-fMRI, a sleep unit, and a radiochemistry lab with cyclotron. The research environment is productive and internationally connected, with collaborations across Europe and a strong record of publications and grant success. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in neuroscience, biophysics, biology, medical sciences, cognitive science, or a related field, with 4–10 years of research experience. Experience mentoring or leading teams and involvement in investigator-driven projects are desirable. Excellent English proficiency is required. The position is designed to support applications for permanent FNRS or ERC grants within 18 months, with eligibility windows based on years since PhD.
