About this position
Charles Darwin University is advertising a Senior Research Fellow, Translational Research position within the Molly Wardaguga Institute for First Nations Birth Rights. The post highlights experience in grant writing, research collaborations, project management, ethics and governance applications, and supervision of postgraduate students at Honours, Masters and PhD level.
Required background includes a PhD in a health or related discipline, extensive experience in maternal/infant/child health research, a strong publication and grant record, and demonstrated culturally safe work with First Nations communities. Desirable experience includes knowledge of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector and Birthing on Country initiatives.

A PhD in a health or related discipline; extensive experience in maternal, infant and/or child health research; a strong research track record including publications, grant success and research collaborations; demonstrated experience in co-design, implementation and participatory action research; extensive project management skills; proven experience working effectively with First Nations people and communities with culturally safe practice; strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills; excellent written communication for reports, ethics and governance applications, funding submissions and peer-reviewed publications; experience supervising postgraduate research students at Honours, Masters and PhD level. Desirable: understanding of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector and knowledge of Birthing on Country services and related First Nations maternal health initiatives.
