About this position
Future University Hakodate is recruiting a Specially Appointed Research Fellow for research on quantum nonlinear dynamics, with emphasis on theoretical and numerical methods related to open quantum systems, quantum information processing, quantum machine learning, nonlinear dynamics, operator-theoretic analysis, and systems control engineering.
The position is attached to the JST PRESTO project “Quantum nonlinear dynamics theory for understanding, prediction, and control of quantum dynamics” led by Principal Investigator Yuzuru Kato in the research area “Exploration of New Sciences Utilizing Mathematics to Predict and Control the Future.” The post is based at Future University Hakodate in Hokkaido, Japan.
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, fixed-term research position with an annual salary of 3 million to 5 million yen, depending on education and experience. The initial contract is for one year and may be renewed based on evaluation, with employment possible up to March 31, 2028. Transportation expenses are available, and the successful candidate may be able to apply for a competitive research budget.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or be expected to obtain one by the start date, and should have research achievements in a relevant specialty. Experience in one of the listed areas is preferred, but the posting welcomes candidates with an open and creative research mindset. Japanese or English application materials are accepted.
