The successful candidate will work in a systems-biology-oriented environment that combines clinical microbiome profiling, functional experimentation, and predictive in silico modeling. The post offers access to cutting-edge infrastructure for anaerobic cultivation, single-cell technologies, multi-omics, advanced computational resources, and core facilities, plus integration into international networks such as MicroPlanet and MetAGE.

This is a tenure-track academic appointment with a clear pathway: initial 6-year appointment leading to Associate Professor. The role includes leading innovative research on key microbial species and communities, building a high-impact research group, securing competitive funding, publishing in top-tier journals, teaching, mentoring, and engaging in international collaborations and outreach.
