Two Fully Funded PhD Positions in Comparative Politics and Political Science University of Bergen in Norway

📢 The Department of Comparative Politics at the University of Bergen is inviting applications for two fully funded PhD positions starting in 2027.

The positions are based in Bergen, Norway, and run for 4 years, including 25% teaching, supervision, and administrative duties. The salary is NOK 593,700 per year with annual salary increases.

Research areas include Comparative Politics and Political Science, with scope across political institutions and governance, political behaviour and public opinion, democracy and elections, international and comparative politics, politics and economics, and politics and philosophy/political theory (PPE).

Eligibility: applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Comparative Politics, Political Science, or a related field; have training in both qualitative and quantitative research methods; show strong academic results (normally a grade B or higher); and demonstrate excellent written and spoken English.
