About this position

Two-year postdoctoral position in neuroglial biology at the Moyon Lab, Institute of NeuroPhysiopathology (INP), Aix-Marseille Université, Marseille, France.

The lab is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow for an ERC-funded project focused on the role of oligodendroglial cells in Alzheimer’s disease and related age-associated brain dysfunction. The project combines glial cell biology, cognitive behavior, spatial transcriptomics, and behavioral approaches, with the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research on neurodegenerative disease mechanisms.

The Moyon Lab is based at the Institute of NeuroPhysiopathology, part of Aix-Marseille Université and the Centre of Excellence in Neurodegeneration (CoEN). The INP provides an internationally competitive environment with state-of-the-art facilities and a strong focus on neural cell organization, function, and interactions, as well as the molecular and cellular basis of major brain diseases. The lab emphasizes collaboration, diversity, inclusivity, and personalized mentorship.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience or equivalent, with an interest in neurodegenerative diseases and/or genomics/bioinformatics. The posting also values excellent communication and organizational skills, and a strong profile in autonomy, teamwork, analytical and critical thinking, flexibility, problem-solving, motivation, curiosity, and adaptability. Good English is required.

Funding and conditions: the position is a 24-month postdoctoral contract with a monthly gross salary in the range of 2500 to 3500 euros before taxes, depending on experience. The appointment includes standard legal and social protection in France, including health insurance and retirement contributions, access to seminars, conference opportunities, research infrastructure, and professional development training.

How to apply: send a CV, a one-page cover letter, and a list of 2-3 references to [email protected]. Deadline: 31 August 2026.

Location: the project will be developed at the Faculty of Medicine in Marseille, France, with access to the academic and clinical research environment of Aix-Marseille Université.
