University Assistant Post-Doc (all genders) – Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry, TU Wien TU Wien in Austria

TU Wien is offering a University Assistant Post-Doc position in the Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry, within the Research Group for Sustainable Organic Chemistry and Catalysis. This is a full-time postdoctoral appointment (40 hours/week) designed as a maternity leave cover and is limited until 28 February 2027 or for the duration of the leave of absence, whichever comes first. The expected start date is immediately.

The role is centred on research in organic synthesis and the evaluation of pharmaceutically active compounds, together with the development and implementation of sustainable synthetic methods. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching in the fundamentals of chemistry and organic chemistry, participate in examinations, lead project work and project groups, publish research findings, help organize scientific events, supervise students, and support organizational and administrative activities.

The position sits in a research environment that emphasizes sustainable organic chemistry, catalysis, photocatalysis, and the use of renewable raw materials and ionic liquids.
