PhD and Postdoc Openings in Control, Optimization, Networks, and Infrastructure Systems
Ahmad F. Taha at Vanderbilt University is recruiting 2–3 new PhD students and/or postdocs to join his group.
The group works on cyber-physical and urban infrastructure systems, with research interests in control, optimization, networks, estimation, and learning for dynamic systems. Application areas include sustainable energy systems, converter-rich power networks, drinking water and stormwater systems, transportation networks, infrastructure security, and climate-aware decision-making.
Ideal applicants should have strong mathematical maturity (linear algebra, probability, calculus, and analysis), and be comfortable with control theory, optimization, dynamical systems, or machine learning. Strong programming habits and a commitment to reproducible computational work are valued. For postdoctoral applicants, a strong publication record in high-quality journals or conferences is expected.
