Postdoctoral Researcher opening at the University of Toledo in the Integrated Design & Manufacturing (IDM) Lab. This position sits at the intersection of machine learning , metal additive manufacturing , and high-temperature materials for aerospace and defense applications. The successful candidate will work on process modeling, optimization, adaptive control, and materials characterization, with close collaboration with an industry partner. Ideal background: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; hands-on experience in metal additive manufacturing and/or machine learning for physical systems; experience with high-temperature materials or advanced characterization is a plus. Strong publication record and the ability to work independently are emphasized. Eligibility note: due to sponsor restrictions, applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
