AgNUE - PhD - Recognised Researcher R2

PhD opening at CEIGRAM, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain This position is linked to the research line “Nitrogen fertilisation, GHG mitigation in the Mediterranean region and sustainable agri-food systems” within the AgNUE project. The successful candidate will join the research team at CEIGRAM, the Centre for the Study and Research of Agricultural and Environmental Risk Management, one of UPM’s research centres, and will take part in WP1 (Supersites) as well as related research, training, and knowledge-transfer activities in an international consortium. The role is research-intensive and includes fieldwork , laboratory work , data processing, participation in international meetings, and the preparation of scientific articles and reports. The project is especially relevant for candidates interested in agronomy , environmental monitoring , greenhouse gas fluxes , and sustainable agricultural systems . Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Science, Agronomy, Agro-environmental Engineering, or a closely related area. Strong experience is requested in field measurement of greenhouse gas and nitrogen fluxes, handling large sensor datasets, programming in R or Python , GIS mapping (e.g. QGIS), and work in standardized monitoring networks such as ICOS-type systems. High-level English and Spanish, team working ability, experience in international field research, and willingness to travel to supersites in different regions are also important.
