PhD opening in Mechanical Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology The Systems Realization Laboratory (SRL@FIT) at Florida Tech is advertising one immediate, funded PhD position for Fall 2026 . The position is hosted by Assistant Professor Anand Balu Nellippallil in the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering. Research areas include engineering design and optimization, integrated computational materials engineering (ICME), multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO), uncertainty quantification and management, machine learning, artificial intelligence, computational modeling, and robust design for complex engineered systems. Funding : the selected student will receive a Graduate Research Assistantship and full tuition support through the department. Eligibility highlights : an MS or equivalent degree is required. The post specifically encourages applicants with strong backgrounds in computational modeling, engineering design, multidisciplinary design optimization, and machine learning. TOEFL or IELTS is mandatory for the application; GRE scores are optional.
