Postdoctoral position in microfluidics

ESPCI Paris - PSL is offering a postdoctoral position in microfluidics within the Laboratory of Biochemistry team led by Prof. Andrew Griffiths. ESPCI is a highly multidisciplinary French Grande École d’Ingénieurs and internationally recognized research institution in Paris, with strong activity at the interface of physics, chemistry, and biology. The project is embedded in FLU-PREDICT, where the laboratory is responsible for developing and optimizing a droplet-based microfluidic platform to help predict genetic reassortment between avian and human or swine influenza viruses. The team has already developed a reassortment detection system, and the successful postdoctoral researcher will adapt the microfluidic setup to the needs of the project while taking responsibility for all microfabrication steps. The position is well suited to candidates with a strong background in microfluidic systems and an interest in working on advanced ultrahigh-throughput assays. The work is highly interdisciplinary and will involve close collaboration with project partners, making it attractive for researchers who enjoy combining engineering, biochemistry, and applied biological problem-solving. Eligibility requirements include a PhD or equivalent degree, strong experience in microfluidics, excellent English, and personal qualities such as flexibility, autonomy, teamwork, and good interpersonal skills. The contract is full-time and temporary, with a starting date of 1 November 2026. Applications are due by 1 November 2026 and should be submitted by email with a CV and cover letter to [email protected]. Institutional context: ESPCI Paris - PSL is known for its multidisciplinary research culture and strong innovation ecosystem, offering a dynamic environment for postdoctoral work in a leading Paris-based laboratory.
