The Technische Universität Ilmenau is advertising a Research assistant (f/m/d) position in the Department of Economics and Media Science , within the Marketing Group . This is a PhD-track research assistant role designed to support the holder’s own academic qualification and dissertation work while contributing to the department’s research, teaching, and administration. Responsibilities include working on an individual dissertation project, participating in research projects and publication activities, teaching exercises and seminars, supervising and evaluating student assignments and theses, participating in examinations, and supporting administrative tasks within the department. Applicants are expected to hold a very strong Master’s degree or equivalent (Dipl./Univ.) in economics or a related field , ideally with a marketing focus. The role also requires very strong English skills (minimum B2) and basic German knowledge (minimum B1) . Desirable qualifications include demonstrated interest in business research, evidence of scholarly work such as a thesis or initial publications, the ability to work independently and responsibly, strong communication skills, and knowledge of empirical social research. The post offers a TV-L salary, a special annual payment, 30 days of annual leave , additional days off on 24 and 31 December, flexible working-time arrangements, a VBL public-sector pension scheme, training opportunities, and health and sports programs.
