PhD Position in Housing Studies and Urban Sociology at University of Stuttgart

Open-topic PhD position in housing studies / urban sociology at the University of Stuttgart , in the new Sociology of Architecture and Housing unit. The project is to be undertaken in close collaboration with Anthony Miro Born , who is moving to a professorship in Sociology of Architecture and Housing. The call particularly welcomes projects on the causes and consequences of housing inequality , the relationship between housing and class inequality , new forms of housing , and innovative quantitative or qualitative methodologies. This is a funded doctoral position, not a stipend. It is a formal public-sector employment contract under E13 TV-L, 75% for three years, with pension contributions, health insurance, and an annual special payment. The approximate net salary is around €2,250/month in the first year and increases to over €2,400/month thereafter. An extension may be possible. Additional support is available for relevant housing datasets, networking, and conference travel. Eligibility highlights: applicants should aim for a doctoral qualification in housing studies or urban sociology; a very good command of English is required; German is not required .
