Postdoctoral Fellow in Bio-derived PCM Nano-emulsions and Smart Textiles

The Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) in Vilnius, Lithuania, is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join a new research project focused on bio-derived phase change material (PCM) nano-emulsions for controlled heat storage. The project aims to develop ultra-stable bio-based PCMs and integrate them into smart textiles for advanced thermal regulation and wearable thermal management applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for synthesizing and optimizing bio-based PCM nano-emulsions, studying structure–function relationships using advanced techniques such as SEM, FTIR, DSC, XRD, Rheology, and TEM, and developing protocols with various PCMs, emulsifiers, and nucleating agents. Additionally, the role involves embedding PCMs into textile substrates to create innovative solutions for wearable technology. Applicants should hold a PhD in chemistry, materials science, textile engineering, printed electronics, or a related field, and possess a strong experimental research background with at least one peer-reviewed publication relevant to the topic. The position offers a gross monthly salary of €3,142 for a 24-month contract, with a start date no later than 30 June 2026. The research will be conducted at FTMC, a leading institution in Lithuania for physical sciences and technology research. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Arunas Stirke directly or apply via the official LinkedIn application link. This opportunity is ideal for researchers interested in materials science, chemistry, smart textiles, and sustainable energy storage solutions.
