Postdoctoral Fellowship in Nuclear Energy System Simulation, Reactor Safety, and Uncertainty Quantification at University of Sharjah

The University of Sharjah’s Nuclear Energy System Simulation and Safety Research Group (NE3S) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to research in nuclear energy systems , reactor safety , uncertainty quantification , sensitivity analysis , severe accident analysis, and related advanced computational studies. The official job posting is for a post-doctoral researcher within the Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE). The successful candidate will investigate novel UQ/SA methods and model calibration for severe accident modeling and simulation, construct computer models for severe accident analyses and source term assessments, train research assistants and graduate students, and publish/present research results in conferences and meetings. Eligibility highlights: PhD in nuclear engineering or a related field; about 3 years of relevant experience; strong programming skills in C, C++, Python and/or Fortran; excellent English communication; ability to publish and present research in English. Preferred experience includes peer-reviewed publications in UQ/SA, familiarity with uncertainty quantification codes, a strong background in severe accident phenomena, and experience with safety analysis codes such as RELAP, TRACE, and MELCOR.
