Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) at the University of Graz , Austria, in the Department of Mathematics and Scientific Computing . The successful candidate will carry out independent research and publication activities in the field of mathematics of machine learning . The position also involves participation in ongoing research projects and the development of new research initiatives in areas including optimal transport , classification algorithms , and their applications in biology and medicine . In addition to research, the appointee will teach courses, administer examinations, and provide academic and organizational support for students in the institute’s study programs. Applicants should hold a completed doctoral or Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline such as statistics or computer science . Strong knowledge is expected in at least one of the following: mathematical methods, analysis and numerical aspects of machine learning, optimal transport, data science, harmonic analysis, or applications in biology and medicine.
