Postdoctoral Fellow in Magnetically Enhanced Water Electrolyzer and Green Hydrogen

Postdoctoral Fellow opportunity at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in an industry-sponsored DST–Industry consortium project focused on green hydrogen and magneto-electrocatalysis . The project is titled Development of India's First Magnetically Enhanced Water Electrolyzer and is being carried out in collaboration with Prof. Chandramouli Subramaniam at IIT Bombay and InSolare Energy Limited . The work builds on a 2023 proof-of-concept and is now moving toward the prototyping stage. The research aims to develop a magneto-electrocatalytic electrolyzer that integrates an external magnetic field with electrocatalysis to reduce the energy required for hydrogen production by about 20%. Research areas and keywords: electrocatalysis, water electrolysis, AEM/PEM/alkaline electrolyzers, electrolyzer cell/stack development, electrochemical characterization, prototype development, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), green hydrogen, energy storage, materials science, chemical engineering, energy science, mechanical engineering. Eligibility: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Energy Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong hands-on experience in electrocatalysis, water electrolysis, electrolyzer testing, and electrochemical methods such as CV, LSV, EIS, and chronopotentiometry is expected. Prototype development experience is highly desirable, and CFD knowledge is an added advantage. Funding and duration: This is a 2-year full-time postdoctoral position supported by an industry-sponsored project. The post does not mention a stipend amount or other financial details. How to apply: Interested candidates should email their CV and a brief cover letter to [email protected] and [email protected] . The post encourages sharing with suitable candidates in your network.
