PhD fellowships in chemical biology are available at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, University of Copenhagen . The project, led by Assistant Professor Christian Kofoed , focuses on the molecular complexity of immune-cell interfaces and the protein interaction networks that shape the immunological synapse . The successful PhD fellow will help develop a next-generation chemical biology platform and apply it to study communication between immune cells. The work is interdisciplinary and includes training in protein engineering , cell culture , confocal microscopy , and mass spectrometry . This is a 3-year PhD position starting on 15 November 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The fellowship includes approximately 10% teaching , offering experience for a teaching portfolio and academic career development. The position is based in a dynamic, international research environment at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Applicants should have a relevant academic degree in the project area. For Danish degrees, a relevant Master’s degree is required; for international degrees, applicants must have an equivalent master’s degree or at minimum a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a Danish bachelor’s degree and be academically qualified at master’s level.
