Connor W. Coley’s group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking a postdoctoral associate or research scientist for a collaborative project on the computer-aided design of selective herbicides . The position focuses on building an in silico molecular design pipeline and connecting it to experimental synthesis and validation through CROs and collaborators. The work includes structural modeling of enzyme-substrate interactions, using generative models and virtual screening to propose candidate molecules, prioritizing compounds with property prediction models, interpreting assay results, and supporting iterative optimization across the design-make-test-analyze cycle. This opportunity is especially relevant to researchers with interests in chemistry , chemical engineering , computer science , biological modeling , and agricultural chemistry . Prior experience with experimental molecular design/optimization campaigns and computer-aided molecular design tools is strongly preferred; experience with generative models is helpful but not required. The post is highly collaborative and will involve coordination with other research groups at MIT and elsewhere.
