PostDoc Researcher in intelligent control of networked systems
at the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA USI-SUPSI), Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI), in Lugano, Switzerland.
The position focuses on
semantic world models for safe, explainable Physical AI
, with research spanning semantic reasoning, agentic AI, and knowledge representation. The successful candidate will collaborate on European and industrial projects, design and run experiments, support the LEON team, contribute to project proposals, and publish results in high-quality international conferences and journals. The role also includes co-supervision of PhD candidates and students.
This is a
100% full-time postdoctoral contract

Eligibility highlights include a
PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field
, strong Python programming skills, and hands-on experience with semantic technologies such as
RDF, SPARQL, and OWL
. A strong publication record is required, together with prior experience supervising PhD candidates or students and proven ability to develop and submit project proposals in competitive funding calls. Excellent English communication skills, autonomy, and teamwork are also expected. Experience in semantic web technologies, knowledge representation, and robotic systems is desirable.
