Weill Cornell Medicine is advertising a Postdoctoral Associate in Medicine in the Nowak Laboratory , working on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) , tumor–immune interactions , metabolism , lineage tracing , and somatically engineered mouse models (SEMMs) . The project is carried out in collaboration with the Birsoy/Tavazoie laboratories at Rockefeller University and focuses on how metabolism shapes the tumor microenvironment (TME). The role includes engineering multi-allele PDAC mouse models, validating lentiviral delivery to the pancreas, delivering Trp53-targeting guide RNAs with evolving lineage-tracing barcodes, tracking clonal evolution, performing candidate gene inactivation studies, and integrating barcode lineage data with single-cell and computational analyses. Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) in Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Molecular/Cell Biology, or a related field by the start date. Required experience includes mouse cancer models, in vivo viral delivery, longitudinal tumor monitoring, necropsy, tissue processing, lentiviral vector design/production, molecular cloning, and mammalian cell/organoid culture. Strong independent research ability, rigorous record keeping, and publication/presentation experience are expected. Two recommendation letters are required, including one from the doctoral advisor. Preferred background: SEMMs using CRISPR/Cas9 and Cre/lox, lineage tracing and barcoding, genomic and computational analysis (including CRISPResso2, DESeq2, and R), and prior work in PDAC, bladder, or prostate cancer models or tumor–immune metabolism biology. Funding and terms: the starting salary is $75,812 , with benefits and coverage under the Weill Cornell Medicine Postdoctoral Union collective bargaining agreement.
