PhD Opportunity in Microbiology, Nanobiotechnology, Biomaterials, Drug Delivery and Protein Engineering
PhD positions are open in the ProBiN Lab, Department of Biotechnology, University of Engineering and Management (UEM), Kolkata, India, under the research groups of Dr. Dibyajit Lahiri and Dr. Moupriya Nag.
The opportunity is aimed at highly motivated candidates interested in interdisciplinary and translational research at the interface of microbiology, nanobiotechnology, biomaterials, drug delivery, gut health, biofilms, protein engineering, and therapeutic development.
Research themes include biofilm biology and antimicrobial resistance, phage therapy and precision antimicrobials, biomaterials and nano-enabled therapeutics, gut microbiome and gastrointestinal health, functional biomolecules and bioactive compounds, wound healing and regenerative medicine, nanotechnology for drug delivery, microbial biotechnology, and translational research.
Eligibility includes a Master's degree (M.Sc./M.Tech. or equivalent) in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field. A valid GATE qualification is preferred. Applicants should also have at least 5 peer-reviewed research publications during Master's studies, strong interest in interdisciplinary research, and 60% aggregate from Class 10 to Master's level.
