Postdoctoral Position in Translational Cancer Biology (Blood and Prostate Cancer) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine

The Verma Laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellows for a fully funded research program in translational cancer biology, with a focus on blood and prostate cancers. The lab investigates how environmental exposures and inflammation drive hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction, clonal hematopoiesis, and the development of blood and prostate cancers. Research bridges basic, translational, and clinical studies to uncover mechanisms linking inflammation, DNA damage, and stem cell aging to cancer initiation and progression. Utilizing murine and humanized models, human patient samples, single-cell multiomics (CITE-seq), advanced flow cytometry, proteomics, and mechanistic studies, the lab aims to identify therapeutic targets within inflammatory pathways. The group is also testing novel investigational drugs targeting these pathways in preclinical models and early-phase clinical trials, offering exceptional opportunities for translational impact. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in molecular biology, hematology, immunology, prostate biology, or a related field. Preferred experience includes mouse models, stem cell assays, single-cell or omics data, or cancer biology. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. The position is fully supported by NIH R01 and institutional funding, with a competitive salary ($65,000–$75,000) and benefits exceeding NIH guidelines. The collaborative environment at Einstein provides access to state-of-the-art core facilities, mentorship, and career development resources. To apply, send a brief CV (max 3 pages), a one-page research statement, and contact information for three referees as a single PDF to Dr. Divij Verma at [email protected]. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. For more information, visit divijvermalab.com .
