Postdoctoral Position in Synthetic Chemistry and Molecular Materials at SUNUM-Sabancı University
Postdoctoral Position in Synthetic Chemistry and Molecular Materials
at
SUNUM, Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center
.
This opportunity is part of the France–Türkiye bilateral project
“2D magnets based on metal-radical coordination architectures” (2D-MAG)
, supported by the
TÜBİTAK–French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bosphorus Programme
. The project is carried out in collaboration with
Prof. Dominique Luneau
and the team at
Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1
, France.
The postdoctoral researcher will work on
synthetic chemistry
,
coordination chemistry
,
molecular materials
,
surface functionalization
, and
molecular magnetism
. Research tasks include synthesis and purification of stable organic radicals and molecular building blocks, development of molecular grafting strategies, preparation and optimization of coordination assemblies on functionalized surfaces, and structural/magnetic characterization with project partners.
The position is open for an
immediate start
and lasts
12 months
. The successful candidate will also participate in collaborative meetings and contribute to publications and presentations. The project includes reciprocal research visits between Türkiye and France, including planned training in EPR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and SQUID magnetometry.
Eligibility:
PhD in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, materials chemistry, or a closely related field; strong practical experience in synthesis, purification, and molecular characterization; experience with coordination chemistry, stable radicals, surface functionalization, or self-assembled monolayers is advantageous. Familiarity with XPS, AFM, ellipsometry, Raman spectroscopy, EPR, or X-ray diffraction is welcome. Good English and a collaborative, independent research style are expected.
