This PhD project at the University of Cambridge aims to develop novel Positron Emission Tomography (PET) radiotracers for imaging the brain. PET is a powerful, non-invasive molecular imaging technique that allows for the visualization and quantification of various biological targets in vivo, such as receptors and enzymes. The research will focus on the design, synthesis, and evaluation of new radiotracers that can provide enhanced imaging capabilities for studying brain function and pathology. The project is highly interdisciplinary, combining aspects of chemistry, neuroscience, biology, and medical imaging. Students will gain experience in radiochemistry, neuroimaging, and the application of PET technology to address important questions in brain research.
